Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, now residing in Houston, Texas, LeChell R. H. also known as "The Shootah" is a multidisciplinary artist creating written & visual arts exploring the black queer feminine experience and the complexity of the black culture, norms and taboos. Invoking personal narrative and engaging in the community, she brings to life the multitudes of Black American identity and diversity across the African Diaspora. Her work aims to reclaim and reframe the narrative, by exploring uncomfortable truths with nuance and compassion.
