Amanda Wenger is a Houston-based writer and performer with a passion for myths and fairy tales. A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Nursing, she believes in the potential for art to impact marginalized bodies and communities in lifegiving ways. Her work is in turns fearless,  funny, and moving. She can often be found performing at The Moth Live: StorySLAM in Houston, or as a guest on KPFT local radio’s “So What’s Your Story?” Her first standup comedy set, Underhugger, debuted at the Houston Fringe Festival in November 2019. She will attend fiction writing residencies at the Wellstone Center in the Redwoods and The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow in 2020.  Amanda is currently completing her first young adult novel.
