Adam Vincent Clay

Adam Vincent Clay is 2009 graduate of University of Oklahoma. Since 2010 he has been the founder of the Houston New Arts Movement (HNAM), a 501c3 nonprofit community and ensemble of musicians and artists, that actively discuss, promote, compose, and perform classical music in a variety of venues. With HNAM, Adam has collaborated with other nonprofits in Houston, including The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, Ten Thousand Villages, and Houston Composers Salon. Adam has been interviewed by Houston Public Media’s Skyline Sessions, KUHA’s 91.7 classical music station, Houston Press, Free Press Houston, and the Leader News. For Skyline Sessions, Adam performed Debussy’s Footsteps in the Snow, as well as his original variations on a song by Prince.

HNAM has programmed and performed in unique concerts such as “Lost Voices”, a revival of banned compositions from Stalinist Russia, featuring poetry read in Russian and English, a rolling acoustic grand piano with canvas attached in a live multi-media performance of composer Terry Riley’s “In C” with live dance and painting at White Linen Night in the Heights, a concert featuring new music from Houston composers, and various other collaborative concerts with visual artists in the Houston area. Adam was selected for the FreshArts program, Artist INC last year.

He is currently the director of the Traditional Choir at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church. Adam maintains a private piano studio, and lives in Houston with his wife and son.
